Shiseido Waso Quick Gentle Cleanser Review
I wasn’t planning to buy the Waso Quick Gentle Cleanser
because it’s wayyy to pricey for a cleanser. However, after I picked it up in
the Free to Be Me set, this cleanser had easily become my favorite go to
morning cleanser.
Waso Quick Gentle Cleanser |
The Quick Gentle Cleanser came in a sturdy clear plastic
flip top bottle. The sturdiness does help control the amount of usage and it’s
really practical for me because I always always always use more cleanser than
what’s needed. The full bottle size is about 150ml, which is standard amount
for a regular cleanser. It smells like hotel shampoo and looks like honey, a bit gooey and spreads easily on the face.
Ingredients:
The cleanser is formulated with honey and royal jelly, and
both ingredients are touted to be deliver nutrition to skin and keep the skin
looking healthy and plump.
To be honest, I love honey in my sheetmasks and serums, but
for cleanser, I’m a bit sceptical because there is no way my skin can absorb
anything with how fast I use the cleanser. It does leave my skin slightly soft
but I am not too impressed with it.
Just a heads up, this cleanser contains SLS, which can be
drying for some people, I do not notice significant dryness as a result from
using the cleanser, although it can be a little stinging to the eye area (use
oil cleanser beforehand or lip and eye makeup remover!)
The claim (taken from Shiseido Website):
An alcohol-free, oil-free, honey-gel cleanser that foams without water to remove makeup while removing dirt and excess oil. Formulated with honey and royal jelly extracts, this gentle cleanser rinses off clean and nurtures skin by protecting its moisture. Skin feels soft, clean and healthy-looking to prevent the appearance of imperfections.
For dry, oily, normal, combination and sensitive skin. Dermatologist-tested. Non-comedogenic. Paraben-free. Oil-free. Alcohol-free.
- Formulated with Honey Extract to nurture the skin for a healthy look.
- Contains Royal Jelly Extract to deliver amino acids, vitamins and minerals to skin’s surface for added moisture.
- Helps reduce the appearance of skin troubles.
How to use:
DO NOT WET YOUR HAND OR FACE FIRST! This is where I keep
getting it wrong, I always mix my cleansers with a little water to lather it
first. However, with the Quick Gentle Cleanser, the gel is supposed to dissolve
any light makeup and impurities on your skin, kind of like a first cleanser.
Mixing the cleanser with water seems to reduce its effectiveness in dissolving
makeup/dirt so you might want to keep that in mind.
Gel type cleanser |
The foam lathers a bit even without water. This lather can dissolve light makeup and impurities |
Verdict:
If I disregard the price, I love this cleanser as a morning
facial wash. It does smell and look like hotel shampoo, but it was mild enough
for me to remove whatever oil build up from last night. I also love using this
cleanser with my Foreo Luna Play Plus as well, the combination just removes all
my makeup but still is gentle enough for everyday use. If I were to factor in
the price, I’d rather get other cheaper mild and low pH cleansers like the
Cosrx Good Morning Low pH Cleanser and Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing Foam.
